2.     We supply professionally trained

Health Care Attendants:

Our attendants will accompany

you or your loved-one, to the destination and assist you throughout the appointment.

They will provide support and companionship, look after administrative matters such as requisitions and medical documents, and attend to

special personal needs.

 

Our Vans

Our equipment is inspected daily under ‘D409’ guidelines set out by the Nova Scotia

Utilities and Review Board.

in the special needs of seniors,

the mobility challenged,

Alzheimer, and

special needs clients.

 

Our professional and

dedicated staff include

Paramedics, Nurses, PCWs and Medical First Responders who are familiar with Nova Scotia’s Health Care System and facilities.

Atlantic Care-A-Van have

over 35 years experience

in pre-hospital care and transportation of mobility challenged individuals.

 

Questions:

Q. How early must I call to reserve?

A. You should call at least 48-hours before your pick-up time.

For your convenience, our booking office is open 24-hours, 7 days a week.

 

Q. Do I always have to pay the attendant fee?

A. No…we supply an attendant for return trips less than 50 km and wait time of 30 minutes or less at no charge.

 

Q. When do I pay wait time?

A. After 30-minutes, charged at

15-minute intervals so you do not have to pay for full hours.

 

Q. May I take along a family member or friend?

A. Yes…a companion is welcome to join you, provided we have seating available.

 

Q. May I take along my home oxygen?

A. Personal oxygen supplies may go with you as long as they are self-contained and portable.

 

Q. Will the attendant stay with me?

A. Yes, we will stay with you throughout your trip.
